Black Friday

Several years ago Jarod and his family introduced Sam, Molly, Jamie, and Andrew to Black Friday.  They love it and now go every year.  Jarod's family is really organized with flash cards and everything.

This year it started at midnight so they were up all night.  That was great for all those who could come home and sleep all day which was everyone but Sam, he had to go to work.

Scott and I are not Black Friday shoppers.  We prefer warm beds and no crowds.



Thanksgiving

We had a quiet Thanksgiving at home. 

Everyone does a part of the meal. 

It was a great day.

We have so much to be thankful for!!

Concessions

We got to do concessions last night at the BYU football game.  We did it for the American Fork Lacrosse team.  Can't say it is my favorite thing to do but it is for a good cause.

Molly is having fun at school this year.  She has some good roommates and they do a lot of things together.  She is keeping up her good grades too.

Harry Potter

Thursday through we were able to get tickets to the latest Harry Potter movie.  We didn't even have to wait until midnight.  We got to go to an 8:00 show.  The kids loved it!

Preference

Their group never could get together for a day date so they just went out to dinner at California Pizzeria and then to the dance.

They had a great time.

Monticello Temple

Friday, the 5th we took the long ride to Monticello.

Jamie's friend, Laura came with us.

Saturday morning (6th) we went to the temple.

We got special treatment at the temple, the temple president talked with us and told some neat stories about the temple and the building of it.

After the temple it was on the road again.  This time to Four Corners to fulfill one of Jamie's dreams. Ever since third grade she has wanted to go there.  Come to find out it is one of the places Scott has always wanted to visit too.

After Four Corners we stopped in Bluff at the fort.  This is where the Saints settled after their long journey and then making the trail through the rock which has become known as the "hole in the rock".

We wanted to see the "hole in the rock" but it was many more miles on a rough road.

Our last stop was in Moab at Milt's, the local hamburger place.

That was the highlights of our trip to Monticello and how I spent my birthday. 

If you are on the road for your birthday I can't think of a better place to be, the temple, and no one better to spend it with than family and good friends.
