Jamie's last year of girl's camp. This year they went up American Fork Canyon to Mutual Dell.
Camp was July 12-16.
Jamie has always loved Girl's Camp.
One of their activities was hiking up to Timp Cave.

They did a zip line.

Camping

I LOVE CAMPING!!

Growing up every summer my family went camping with my aunt and uncle and their family.

In 1990 my family (my mom and dad and my brothers and sisters and their families) took a week and went camping. We have been doing it every summer since. Sam was 2 when we started. Since Molly and Andrew were born in June they went camping for their first time when they were 1 month old. Jamie was born in April so she had to wait until she was 3 months old for her first camping trip.

This year Scott, Sam, and Andrew took the trailer up Sunday night, Jamie, Molly, and I went up Monday afternoon after we got done working. Sam and Scott had to work all week so they came back Monday night.

Zita had her first camping experience. She stayed one night. She like it but wasn't very impressed with the bathrooms.

Katie (who doesn't usually warm up to people) made friends with Andrew.

One of the highlights every year for the kids is spending a day at Bear Lake.

This year some of the family went to Minetonka caves. They are in Paris, Idaho.

It wouldn't be family camp with out painting rocks.

We are now on the next generation of campers. My nieces and nephews come with their children. The cousins all have fun playing together and there is lots of hands to help with the little ones. It is a great family tradition that I look forward to every year.

Hats

One of my children's favorite things to do when they are shopping is find the craziest or ugliest hat they can, try them on and get a picture.

Concerts in the Park

This year we discovered how enjoyable the concerts in the park are. (They are free concerts, every Monday night, June-August, sponspered by the American Fork Arts Council.) Scott wanted to go to hear the band Joshua Creek, so we talked the kids into going for Family Home Evening. They were reluctant but decided it wasn't so bad, so we went back the next week and heard the Brass Band. We are hooked. Of course the first week I didn't think of bringing my camera. The next week Jamie brought her camera, so she got some pictures. Like usual I am dependent on someone else for pictures.

Molly's birthday

On June 22nd Molly celebrated her 19th birthday. This year she chose hamburgers for her favorite meal and ice cream cookie sandwiches for dessert.

Molly has always loved the water. Swimming, the beach, you name it she loves it.

Some of Molly's favorite things: days off from work, Cafe Rio, peanut butter M&M's, and of course swimming and the beach.

It has been fun having Molly home for the summer.

We love you Molly.

EFY

In June, Jamie went to EFY at BYU. She loved it. She said it was the best year ever. None of the girls or boys in her group came with any one else so they all got to know each other and did everything together.

Court of Honor

In May at a Court of Honor Andrew received his last three required merit badges. Now all he has left is his Eagle project. We are trying to motivate him to get going on that.
