kitchen sink

There is justice in the world.
After I  get done cleaning the kitchen usually I dry out the sink.
Sam always gave me such a hard time about it.
He thought it was so useless.
Tonight he text me and said
"I just dried out our sink...What's wrong with me?"
I love it!!

I love Primary songs!

As part of my Stake calling we get to go to the Primary programs in each of the wards.   Sunday was a busy day, I attended three.
As I listened to the children sing the songs I was reminded of the power of music.
The message of each song is beautiful.  I found the words going through my head all day.  I am glad for my six months in Primary because I was able to learn the songs for this years program.
Many years ago at a Primary leadership training I was taught that you remember:
10% of what you are told
40% if  told in a story
60% if  shown a picture
90% in a song
I believe that is true.  I can still remember a lot of the songs I learned when I was in Primary and that was a long, long time ago.
I love Primary songs!

Sam & his ukelele

Jamie got a ukulele for Christmas and Sam has really enjoyed learning how to play it so he ask for one for his birthday.  We had to order it so he got it today when he and Jarod stopped by for dinner on their way from Ephraim to their apartment.

Sam moves

Sam and Jarod fulfill their life long dream of getting an apartment together.

This is where they are moving to.
It is in Salt Lake at about 48th S and 9th E.
Caleb, Jarod, & Sam
I told them to act like they liked each other.
Caleb helped them move in.
These three have been friends since elementary.
 Jarod, Caleb, Sam,
 Andrew highlighting their apartment number.

Hope they have everything they need, they aren't quite as organized as the girl's were when they moved.  As they keep reminding me they are big boys so I guess they will figure it all out.
Needless to say it will be quiet around our house with just Andrew.

Rain

A beautiful rain storm.
It reminded me of;
Sam, who has always loved the rain
Sam & Molly--June 18,1997
One of my favorite quotes:
Life Isn't About Waiting For The Storm To Pass... It's About Learning To Dance In The Rain.
 and
how much I love not having to move the sprinkler to water the lawn.

Sam's birthday

Since Mondays are Sam's long day of work and school and his birthday is on Monday we had his birthday dinner on Sunday.  We didn't decorate or anything because we knew that night after the dinner we had to take everything out of the kitchen so McKay could start installing our new kitchen floor.
Sam chose for his dinner; burritos, pasta salad, tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden, chocolate pudding and for dessert, Dad's chocolate cake and ice cream.  He wanted bacon too.  I bought him some but said he could cook it for breakfast some time.  The other treat he wanted which didn't get made until later is rice kripy treats make with fruity pebbles and cocoa puffs. (not together, two different pans)

Mom Szabo invited us to go to her Stakes celebration.  The Grandview South Stake was celebrating 40 years since they were organized.   It was a combination carnival and country fair.
