Ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in (Mosiah 18:8-9)
Baptism by immersion in water by one having authority is the first saving ordinance of the gospel and is necessary for an individual to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to receive eternal salvation. All who seek eternal life must follow the example of the Savior by being baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Today we went to Whitney's baptism.
Whitney with her baptism bear.
Jolene (Whitney's grandma) gives each of the grand children the bear as part of her talk on baptism to help them remember their baptismal covenants.
Bear witness of Christ.
Bear your testimony.
Bear one another's burdens.
